January 1968 Emerson Motor Company
Construction Projects:
The completion of the Chicago, Illinois, construction has been a great benefit to the overall flexibility that is needed in this constantly changing automobile market. This project has allowed for the specialized production of the low-volume Allure Performance Luxury Essence SPV and better overall quality of the Emerson Performance vehicles.
The second phase of the manufacturing expansion project is slated to be completed in February 1968 at the New York, New York, facility. At this time, we are looking to transfer the Allure Essence SPV manufacturing to this location.
The third phase is at the Detroit, Michigan, manufacturing facility to assist in vehicle quality and staff quality, which is on target for completion in the next 23 months.
Market Share:
When comparing 1966 to 1967, we have increased in the following markets: coupe, luxury, and mid-size sedan sales, with compact sedan sales holding at 2.4 percent.
Financial:
Our overall shipping costs equate to approximately just over 5 dollars per vehicle based on last year's fiscal sales figures, which are currently within our pricing structure with adjustments made when the occasion arises.
