Edward J. Emerson's Emerson Motor Company log: September 27.2025.01.46

A few years back we made a decision to consolidate chassis designs, which was not a good strategy, as it placed many of our premium vehicles in the crosshairs of the competition, as the customer did not see the benefit in choosing our pricey vehicles over the market standard. This has caused Emerson Motor’s image to decrease as many vehicles migrated to the 109-inch wheelbase, which was originally designed as the smallest subcompact front-wheel-drive platform.

While all was not a failure in this transitory move, it was not the best, as this platform had the cheapest parts and compromised interior and storage capacities.

For example, the Dork was placed on this platform, denoting its status as entry-level, which we are rectifying with a new platform slated for 2020 that is based on Allure's midsize and compact offerings, providing the Dork with the much-needed increase in luxury and interior volume.

These adjustments, along with price increases to assist with the transition, start our progression to an efficient, well-structured glide to better quality and image for Dork.
