Humner Reintroduces V6 Hybrid Turbocharged Powertrain with 2020 Rockfinder HV6T4

December 1, 2019

Detroit, MI — Humner is proud to announce the return of its legendary V6 Hybrid Turbocharged engine architecture, last seen in the 2009 Humner N9130. This marks a bold step toward efficiency and performance without a full transition to electric powertrains.

The 10 year old engineered 2.0L SOHC diesel hybrid turbocharged V6 delivers an impressive 420 horsepower, offering a refined balance of torque, fuel economy, and off-road capability. This powertrain will debut in the 2020 Humner Rockfinder HV6T4, a full-size SUV built to echo the rugged legacy that has been powering the Emerson Truck BKG HDT4.

In parallel, Emerson Truck will launch the PT200 HV6T4, a full-size pickup successor to the successful but costly BKT HDT4, which saw strong demand with 5,039 units requested and 4,191 produced since its 2018 release. The HV6T4 trim designation now signals a shared engineering vision between Humner know for vehicles that go anywhere, do anything, and Emerson Truck division with Humner’s hybrid diesel power.

Also arriving in 2020 is the SV200 HV6T4, Emerson Truck's unibody full size SUV counterpart to the PT200, mirroring the BKG HDT4’s configuration and adopting the same Humner powertrain. While it remains unclear how long Emerson Truck will continue using Humner’s engine, the shared cost structure offers a strategic bridge until Humner finalizes its next-generation Mk E50Q72656 V6 Hybrid Turbocharged engine.

Meanwhile, Emerson Truck is preparing the SV300 LWT4, powered by its own ET44L 239 hp diesel engine, offering a lower-cost alternative to the HV6T4’s hybrid system.

Humner’s 2020 lineup also includes the Trailfinder mid-size crossover in three trims—E25TD, ET25L, and ET25LD—providing a range of engine options, but not to include the Hybrid/Turbo. The compact Humner Sandfinder, which is sold in the Compact UV market, continues with its E2500 I6 272 hp engine, with no changes announced at this time.

“Humner’s return to hybrid turbocharged V6 power is more than a technical revival—it’s a recommitment to our core values of capability, efficiency, and engineering excellence,” said a Humner spokesperson. “With the HV6T4 trim, we’re giving drivers a clear signal: this is a Humner-powered experience, wherever the road—or trail—may lead.”
