Humner, the go everywhere do anything vehicles in the Emerson line up have taken the back burner lately.

The Hummer line was last updated for 2017 for the Trailfinder and 2018 for the Rockfinder and Sanddinder, respectively. While not old by industry standards of 4 to 7 years or longer cycles, with Dork moving upmarket and Emerson redefining its entry price and quality,
And with Allure leading the electric charge with assistance from Emerson and Emerson Performance, it seems like a good time to grow the brand.

Most of the brand growth will be moving from the unibody structure on the larger Rockfinder, with a possible return to unibody as a new model. This move is an effort to utilize economy-of-scale components that will be shared among the Dork Myth, Emerson Truck SV300, SV400, and soon-to-be-released T400 and T300, as well as possibly the T500 (heavy-duty) and T600 (dually/heavy-duty).

The best way for a company to grow is to promote itself as something that customers need or feel they need. With the Hummer brand, this is reintroduced with their first under-Emerson model, the Trailfinder crossover, offering the Emerson Truck ET25L diesel that offers 204 horsepower and an astounding 382 foot-pounds of torque.

This power plant replaces the gas-powered 2500 I6 that made 272 horsepower and 230 pound-feet of torque, mated to the same 5-speed heavy-duty transmission driving all four wheels. By moving from this engine, customers will give up 68 horsepower but gain 152 pound-feet. While I don't expect this trim to be cheap, with the material cost being just under half that of the base model 2017-designed Trailfinder.

Diesel power coming to the Hummer line will broaden that fuel's use when being sold alongside the work and heavy-duty truck versions. There still will be petrol power ranging from an I4 to the ET42L's 4.2L V8, making 435 horsepower, or the yet-to-be-released 3.5L V8, making around 300 horsepower, to replace the 4th-gen 2500T and 2500 engines that made just shy of 300 in the 2500T version.
