2022 Emerson Performance Essence Juno Concept—Unveiling in Detroit, November 2020
Emerson Performance (EP) has tuned Emerson Motors vehicles since 1901, establishing itself as a versatile brand in the EMC family. Throughout its existence many of the engine and transmission variations have been massaged to achieve great performance for our customers with strategic financial risks that have paid off, like the compact Emerson Performance BKB sedan bringing performance to the masses or the Relate EP full-size sedan.
The vision for Emerson Performance has been the fun division with not a lot of constraints; however, 2020 has shown this division change is needed. While profitable innovation has taken a back seat in an effort to make the coupe 2+2 lineup, which is primarily run by Emerson Performance, even the base model Emerson BKC at times has had different versions of EP, making the lineup $100,000 plus.
While profits are high for the brand and company, Emerson Motor Company (EMC) has scaled back its rapid engineering schedule to concentrate on more niche projects like the Juno Concept.
Utilizing a modified Allure Essence luxury sedan to achieve over 600 horsepower propels the vehicle to 60 in 3.5 seconds, but the Juno Concept is much more than performance. It provides a new design language that highlights the Humner designed 3.6L V-6 hybrid. The Juno is not what you would call a typical hybrid, as it is a non-plugin technology that is mated to an EP 8-speed DCT redlining at 9,200 rpm at 20.5 mpg.
