Emerson Press Release

All‑new Dork Elgin

Emerson Motor Company today announced that the all‑new Dork Elgin, the brand’s most luxurious coupe to date, will arrive in showrooms in just over two years. This strategic move positions Dork to deliver luxury offerings distinct from the BKC’s sporty coupe identity, elevating the brand above its sibling in both pricing and prestige.

Ahead of launch, Emerson is releasing preliminary industry scores for its upcoming coupes. The Elgin earned an overall score of 48/100, a specific score of 50, and an image rating of 62—underscoring its strong design identity as it enters the luxury segment.

The Emerson BKC shares no sheet metal with the Elgin coupe nor a platform. Both ride on individual architectures, with the BKC riding on a 110‑inch front‑engine, rear‑wheel‑drive platform, while the Elgin is built on a 109‑inch front‑wheel‑drive architecture.

New chassis design

As part of its ongoing realignment, Emerson has navigated product discontinuations, financial headwinds, and shifting market demands. To stay ahead, the company continues to refine its platforms.

One of these adjustments is the completion of the newly designed Emerson front-wheel-drive and all-wheel-drive front-wheel-drive bias platforms.

GearCity Regulations Board

The GearCity Regulations Board evaluates platforms against an idealized 100% benchmark, allowing customers and manufacturers to see how each design compares. Emerson’s new platforms deliver double‑digit gains across strength, comfort, performance, and dependability compared to the outgoing 2011 designs.
