Detroit, Michigan – Emerson Motor Company today announced progress on the prototype design of the Emerson Performance BKB DCS‑M sedan, a concept vehicle scheduled for unveiling at the upcoming 2021 North American International Auto Show in Detroit. The DCS‑M represents the next evolution in Emerson’s compact sedan portfolio, serving as the foundation for future trims including the BKB, BKB Dual, BKB S, and BKB Dual S. This concept introduces a newly engineered front‑wheel drive unibody chassis, designed to enhance efficiency and performance while expanding the Emerson Performance lineup. Prototype Highlights Engine: Naturally aspirated 1.5L 16v, delivering 276 horsepower and 137 lb‑ft of torque Transmission: 6‑speed manual transaxle with limited slip differential Performance: 0–60 mph projected in mid‑5 second range; electronically capped top speed of 137 mph Stopping distance: 103 ft from 60 mph Dimensions: Length 166 in, width 75 in, curb weight 2,164 lbs Fuel economy: Rated at 29.6 mpg Final drive options: Customers will be able to select from multiple FD configurations to tailor performance and drivability Future Emerson Performance Models Building on the DCS‑M platform, Emerson is also developing: BKB DCS‑A: Equipped with an 8‑speed dual‑clutch transmission, delivering the same 276 horsepower for drivers seeking seamless, rapid gear changes. BKB DCS‑MR: Featuring a 6‑speed manual transmission paired with a higher‑output 306 horsepower engine, designed for enthusiasts who demand maximum engagement and performance. As concept vehicles, these models remain in the planning stage, with design refinements and engineering validation continuing ahead of their public debut.
