Emerson Motors has resumed production of the Relate and Relate 4 full-size sedans following a surge in consumer interest after the initial discontinuation announcement. The unexpected increase in sales demonstrated continued demand for the full-size sedan segment, prompting a strategic reassessment.
Sales of the Relate will continue to be closely monitored as the company prepares for the upcoming launch of the 2021 Dork Relate SE Ultra, scheduled for October 2020.
Emerson Motors Outlook
The announcement of the Relate’s discontinuation created a ripple effect across the market, with demand rising modestly from 1,010 to 1,034 units. Meanwhile, the E-FSS electric full-size sedan has surpassed 1,300 units sold, underscoring growing consumer interest in electrified alternatives. A comprehensive redesign of the E-FSS is planned for 2021, offering customers a compelling option alongside internal combustion variants.
To provide additional transparency, Emerson Motors will release a comparative analysis of September 2020 vs. August 2020 production and inventory statistics, including forward-looking projections.
