GearCity--Emerson Motor Company: Navigating Growth After Fwin Subsidiary Launch and Catty Stock Purchase

Press Release — Detroit, Michigan April 1, 2021

Emerson Motor Company today announced strategic updates following the launch of its Fwin subsidiary and the conclusion of its relationship with Catty. These developments mark a new chapter in the company’s evolution as it expands its electric and performance vehicle portfolio.

Solar Brand Expansion Emerson Motors is advancing its Solar brand awareness campaign with plans to introduce an electric compact sedan designed to reach a broader customer base. New trims will build on the efficiency of the Emerson Motors BKB platform, offering a competitive alternative to the Chungfung E4 line. While the E4 provides near‑luxury appeal, its higher manufacturing costs make the BKB a more scalable and cost‑effective foundation for Solar’s entry‑level compact EV strategy. By leveraging in‑house propulsion systems rather than external platform sharing or badge engineering, Emerson Motors ensures greater efficiency and long‑term value.

Fwin Subsidiary Transition The launch of Fwin has created both opportunities and challenges. To maintain momentum in the global 2+2 roadster segment, Emerson Motors will convert existing Fwin Pyrwin I50 roadsters into Emerson Motors BKR models, with a future “S” variant planned for the lineup. This interim measure allows customers to enjoy familiar products while the company prepares to release the next‑generation BKR, beginning with the Emerson Performance BKR MTS on a new platform.

During the transition, Fwin did not fully integrate branch staff, contributing to a temporary decline in Emerson Motor Company’s market share from over 14% to just below Gusboard, now the second‑largest competitor. This shift was compounded by a supplier strike that disrupted manufacturing last month. Emerson Motors is actively monitoring market conditions and adjusting operations to restore growth.

Catty Partnership Conclusion Emerson Motor Company and Catty have mutually agreed to end their partnership due to conflicts of interest and the significant operational demands of restructuring. The financial terms requested by Catty would have placed Emerson Motors at a competitive disadvantage, raising concerns about executive ethics and potential regulatory scrutiny. By exiting the relationship, Emerson Motors can focus resources on filling product gaps left by the discontinuation of its full‑size sedan and the establishment of Fwin.

Innovation in Compact Luxury Engineers at Allure have extended the Bay’s wheelbase to create the Bay A5W4, a hatchback‑styled sedan offering increased practicality with an additional cubic foot of storage. With demand rising in the compact luxury segment, models such as the Dork Atlas and Dunira sedans highlight the opportunity for Emerson Motors to deliver new near‑luxury vehicles that combine value, practicality, and design innovation.

About Emerson Motor Company Emerson Motor Company is committed to delivering innovative vehicles that balance performance, efficiency, and customer value. With a growing portfolio of electric and performance models, Emerson Motors continues to shape the future of mobility.
