New Emerson Motor Company releases for October 2020
New Emerson Motor Company releases for October 2020
Press Release—Detroit, Michigan
Since the auto manufacturing supply issues plagued the market in early 2020, Emerson's engineering department has been hard at work in their hybrid approach agreed upon by the union officials to bring our customers the vehicles they want. While these constraints have affected our net value as well as cash flow projections, the team remained vigilant to satisfy the customer.
New Releases
2020 Emerson Truck PT300 T4, full-size body-on-frame pickup truck
The truck market was hit the hardest in the shutdown due to many buyers just not wanting a vehicle that was not complete in design. With this in the forefront of the engineers' minds, they were still determined to bring the much-needed body on the market late. The shutdown produced time to work with suppliers and customers through the prototype EMCall system, which was in its infancy stages.
Through this iteration we learned from our customers how to market our truck lineup, with many requesting body-on-frame over unibody construction for their hauling needs, leaving the electric, mid-sized, and compact pickups as the only examples of unibody design.
The PT300 T4's I-6 engine delivers 301 horsepower to all four independent wheels, offering 21.7 miles per gallon. This splits customers off into two different categories, with the other being the currently on-sale Emerson Truck PT300 DWT2, which has a diesel engine that produces 236 horsepower and 504 foot-pounds of torque while boasting 36 mpg.
2020 Allure Essence A904, mid-size all-wheel-drive luxury sedan
The 2020 Allure Essence A904 aligns performance with luxury, powered by an Allure-designed 322-horsepower A90 generation 5 engine mated to a brand-specific 7-speed semi-automatic transmission. Customers will find this standard powertrain a carryover from the last generation A90-4 as well as the transmission. The suspension has a double wishbone for the front and air suspension for the rear, offering improved stability when stopping in 93 ft and accelerating in 5.196 seconds, according to a third-party testing validation. Other performance specs are a trap speed of 106 and achieving the quarter mile in 13.47 seconds for this 3,542-pound luxury sedan.
2021 Allure Essence EMQ4, a mid-size all-wheel-drive electric luxury sedan
Sharing a multi-propulsion platform with the Essence A904, this fully electric luxury sedan, slotted under the 651-horsepower Allure Cascade ELQ, making slightly less at 610 horsepower, will manage 0-60 in 3.84 seconds. The quarter mile passes by in this electrically propelled 4,484-pound sedan in 11.77 seconds at 121 miles per hour.
2021 Emerson Motors Solar and Solar S, compact front-wheel-drive electric sedans
The fully electric Solar is equipped with a revised motor battery unit for this front-wheel-drive compact sedan that now produces 257 horsepower, up from the 213 of last year's model. This new configuration propels the 3,472-pound compact sedan to the quarter mile in 14.42 seconds at 99 miles per hour, and 60 for the sedan happens in 6.85 seconds.
Customers who choose the S trim are greeted with 310 horsepower, producing a 5.95-second run to 60, while the quarter happens in 13.55 seconds at 105 miles per hour.
2021 Dork Leonidas 4wd, subcompact SUV
The Leonida 4wd follows up on the 2wd base model using the brand-designed 174-horsepower engine mated to an Emerson 6-speed. This vehicle is one of the last few models that will utilize the front-wheel-drive-biased all-wheel-drive generation 3 platform while offering minimum improvements over the all-wheel-drive addition, providing better cold-climate driving over the base model 2wd. Releasing in October aligns with a strategic move to better compete with models hitting the market from Hash, Cayalli, AOS, and Grasshopper.
2021 Dork Dunira, mid-size near-luxury sedan
As Dork engineers work on future designs tasked with moving the brand upmarket, there has to be a larger, more luxurious model than the current generation compact luxury sedan.
The 2021 Dork Dunira mimics the engine specs of the 2021 Dork Atlas Ultra, delivering 195 horsepower and cargo space. However, this near-luxury flagship model stretches its length by 7 inches when compared to the Atlas Ultra while delivering similar luxury features.
This design vision is intentionally opening the door for the brand flagship, the Dork Elgin.
