Press Release—New Allure Sylherin ELQ
New York—October 2020
Amid a multitude of crossovers, Allure is approaching the final stages of its engineering process. Most crossovers up until recently have been relatively standard in design philosophy until the release of the Emerson BKM Coupe, which graced the market with new innovative styling.
While coupe styling has been a hallmark of the evolutionary progression of what was called the (Niedermeyer, 2025) two-door sedan, the design keeps that same energy with the crossover coupe styling, where the vehicle offers less practicality for more money. This design was introduced as a new innovative style for the front-wheel drive BKM, and sales figures show 16,012 for September 2020 compared to the standard version's sales of 22,370. These sales numbers uncover data that the voice of the customer has communicated through their desire to have the coupe version slightly less than the all-wheel drive-front wheel drive bias, BKM Dual, which sold 17,244. While these numbers paint a picture of sales, the untold story lies in the demand curve, where the coupe outshines the standard 4,820 to 4,591. While not a large number, they highlight customer demand. This evolutionary coupe design is now crossing over to the luxury market with the October 2020 introduction of the Sylherin ELQ as a full-size crossover that will replace the already discontinued Allure Expression, which was so highly successful in the market that the name was used to assist SUV sales with the release of the 2019-designed Allure Expression EMQ4, a mid-size luxury SUV.
2020 Allure Sylherin ELQ specification:
All electric, 591 horsepower, rear-wheel-drive motor battery unit
Double wishbone and multi-link suspension
5,405 lb curb weight with a 4.1 kg/hp ratio
Unibody multi-platform-designed chassis
The Allure Sylherin ELQ is unveiling at a time when most of the crossover competition is moving to subcompact crossover designs competing in the near-luxury and standard sizes. This places the Sylherin ELQ in a unique position where it competes with the 2020 Task 3889, Cervier T936, L M3461, and Arromaches V9577, all 200 in length but offering bare-bones amenities. This is where the Sylherin ELQ shines like the Expression in Presence.
The primary intended market for the Allure Sylherin ELQ is the US and China, according to recent sales reports.
The Allure Sylherin ELQ, while not the first coupe for the brand—that title goes to the 2019-released Allure Flow A904SC that graced the BKM Coupe's design philosophy—will be the first for an electric crossover that will slot above the Allure Pahin EMQ4 in size and price, which is currently being sold for $387,656 with a demand of 1,288 after 8,428 sold.
The projected sales goals are conservatively considered at just over 7,000 with an annual figure of 84,000.
