Union Negotiation

Background

May opened with planning for new vehicle designs and continued supplier‑side improvements that strengthened our product offerings. At the same time, the company faced increasing pressure from the union, driven by concerns about long‑term investment returns, shifting global policy, and competitive market conditions.

A key topic was the benefit investment account, funded through monthly payroll deductions ranging from 10% to 25% depending on department and elected return options. This structure became central to discussions about long‑term employee security and company obligations.

Plan

Mission to Dallas initiated in April to support relationship building ahead of negotiations
Account structure reviewed and assessed
Data compiled and analyzed
Research team assembled and feedback incorporated
Phase 1 of account adjustments initiated
Outcomes reviewed and refined
Phase 2 preliminary rollout executed
Combined Phase 1 and Phase 2 results evaluated
Retirement pay adjustments negotiated and approved across factory, branch, administration, and engineering teams

Result

The Dallas negotiation successfully prevented a strike in May 2026 and established updated retirement pay structures aligned with both union expectations and company sustainability goals.
