GearCity-SimulationGC7: January 2019 designing the EP BKB 508 Compact Sedan
Concern
Chungfung has introduced new V8-powered vehicles for 2019 and 2020. In a memo to the chief of designs, it outlined the justification for a pivot from the top-of-the-line 1.2TT models. Contained within the request were new designs with help from MotorBack's 2017 1.9L V8, making an astounding 616 horsepower currently on sale and used by the Chungfung Race Division in the Chungfung Performance V8 compact SUV. The prototypes expanded use of this powerful yet technologically advanced engine, evolving into the Chungfung Myzus V8, Project CMCS V8, and Mantis V8, which have been announced but are not in final production form.
Tension
The move by Chungfung to stop outside its main product lineup signifies a shift in strategy for the brand. It now wants to compete in the near-luxury segment of compact sedans, compact SUVs, and mid-size SUVs. Internally, tension has been brewing over the past couple of months between the China brand and Emerson Performance. After the design division signed off on the projects, Emerson Performance unveiled the BKB VB-8, BKB VB-6, and BKB 508. Although there was dissatisfaction regarding the developments, it was essential to take action to maintain the position of the performance division.
