Overview
Motorback was acquired this month. After completing the acquisition, Emerson Motors found that a number of Motorback facilities were not positioned to support efficient long-term production. While efforts were made to maintain operational continuity during the transition, a comprehensive review revealed significant opportunities to streamline manufacturing operations and improve overall productivity.
To address these challenges, Emerson Motors consolidated production into two strategic facilities in Yokohama and Busan. Facilities that were not actively contributing to production were closed as part of the integration process. No jobs were eliminated as a result of these actions.

These changes will strengthen manufacturing efficiency, support future growth, and help ensure customers continue to receive the vehicles they expect from both Motorback and Emerson Motors.
The Motorback acquisition included four manufacturing facilities. As part of the integration process, Emerson Motors has consolidated operations into two strategic production centers located in Yokohama, Japan, and Busan, South Korea.
Production of the Chungfung Mosquito 4TT will be temporarily transferred to the Yokohama facility while construction and modernization efforts are completed at the Busan facility. This transition supports Emerson Motors' broader manufacturing strategy by streamlining operations and enabling both facilities to be retooled for expanded Emerson Motors vehicle production.
Integration and modernization activities began shortly after the acquisition and represent a significant investment in the company's long-term manufacturing capabilities. While temporary production transfers require additional resources, they are essential to maintaining a consistent supply of vehicles for Motorback customers throughout the transition.
The expanded manufacturing footprint will also help Emerson Motors address sustained market demand and increase production capacity to support future growth.
