Exclusivity over volume

"Exclusivity over volume: With EMQ4 already priced near $400k, the ELQ’s higher positioning suggests production will be limited, targeting high-net-worth buyers who value rarity. Coupe crossover styling: This design choice emphasizes aesthetics and performance over practicality, appealing to buyers who want distinction rather than utility.  Luxury EV differentiation: While Tesla, Audi, and Mercedes compete in the $70k–$100k range, the ELQ is carving out a hyper-luxury EV niche, closer to Bentley Bentayga or Rolls-Royce Cullinan territory—but with electric power. Demand curve insight: Even though EMQ4 sold 8,428 units, demand is tapering (1,288 remaining). The ELQ’s introduction at a higher tier could reset demand by offering something aspirational and scarce" (Voice of the Customer, 2025).

Press Release—New Allure Sylherin ELQ New York—October 2020

Press Release—New Allure Sylherin ELQ New York—October 2020 Amid a multitude of crossovers, Allure is approaching the final stages of its engineering process. Most crossovers up until recently have been relatively standard in design philosophy until the release of the Emerson BKM Coupe, which graced the market with new innovative styling. While coupe styling has been a hallmark of the evolutionary progression of what was called the   (Niedermeyer , 2025)  two-door sedan, the design keeps that same energy with the crossover coupe styling, where the vehicle offers less practicality for more money. This design was introduced as a new innovative style for the front-wheel drive BKM, and sales figures show 16,012 for September 2020 compared to the standard version's sales of 22,370. These sales numbers uncover data that the voice of the customer has communicated through their desire to have the coupe version slightly less than the all-wheel drive-front wheel drive bias, ...

OSU research shows how hackers can target smart meters to destabilize electricity grid Share Facebook X Mastodon LinkedIn Email May 3, 2023 Image CORVALLIS, Ore. – A power transmission grid can be destabilized by hackers who manipulate smart meters to create an oscillation in electricity demand, researchers in the Oregon State University College of Engineering have shown. Findings were published in  IEEE Access . The study is important because understanding where a grid’s vulnerabilities lie and what they look like is the first step in designing protection mechanisms, says associate professor of electrical engineering and computer science Eduardo Cotilla-Sanchez, who led the project with graduate student Falah Alanazi. A smart meter is a digital device that collects electricity usage data and sends it to a local utility through a telecommunications connection. The meters can help customers learn more about their electricity use, and they can also be used to remotely shut of...

Emerson Motor's Unveiling of the 2021 Solar and Solar S

Emerson Motor's Unveiling of the 2021 Solar and Solar S Press Release—September 25, 2020 Wuhan, China Emerson Motors releases the facelifted Solar and Solar S trims in China this week with little to no fanfare, as many look at electric vehicles as not the enthusiast model. Emerson is taking these emotional objections from the customers as a signal of events that could increase or decrease these objects. Electric vehicles are not for everyone as communicated; however, as of September 2020 sales figures and production output (GearCity, 2025), "Last Month's Estimated Shipping Range Demand" was 9,655, of which Emerson produced 9,407 for the Solar. The S trim followed the same quote of 9,396, with 9,166 produced. To compare an electric variant to gas variants is not how we benchmark our vehicles. This approach has been rooted in our operations since 1900 and has sustained our electric program since our first few vehicles, the Allure Brittney, and Emerson Form of the 8...

Emerson Motor Company Strategic Outlook: Inflation, Affordability, and the BKB Compact Sedan

Image
September 15, 2020 At Emerson Motor Company, we recognize the economic pressures our customers face—particularly the impact of inflation on vehicle affordability. Like many in the automotive sector, we’ve seen production costs rise, even as the long-term value of our vehicles remains strong. Our responsibility is not only to deliver quality but to ensure the path to ownership remains accessible. Historically, our compact sedans—like the Emerson BKB—served as entry points for families and first-time buyers. Today, the BKB retails around $27,000, yet our benchmark remains rooted in a legacy of affordability. Growing up, I witnessed my father’s commitment to keeping compact vehicles under $10,000—a standard that shaped our ethos. While we aspire to return to that price point, we must reconcile it with modern realities: advanced electronics, evolving customer expectations, and performance demands. This challenge is not just financial—it’s strategic. Bonuses and wage increases have helped,...
